چکیده

THE Society of Interventional Radiology (SIR) considers the use of catheterdirected intrathrombus thrombolysis (CDT) as an adjunct to anticoagulant therapy to represent an acceptable initial treatment strategy for carefully selected patients with acute iliofemoral deep vein thrombosis (DVT). The SIR defines acute iliofemoral DVT as complete or partial thrombosis of any part of the iliac vein and/or the common femoral vein with or without associated femoropopliteal DVT, in which symptoms have been present for 14 days or less or for which imaging studies indicate that venous thrombosis has occurred within the past 14 days (1).

Endovascular treatment of acute and subacute iliofemoral deep venous thrombosis by using manual aspiration thrombectomy: long-term results of 139 patients in a single center.

PURPOSE To evaluate the immediate and long-term outcomes of percutaneous manual aspiration thrombectomy with provisional stent placement in treating acute and subacute iliofemoral deep venous thrombosis (DVT). MATERIALS AND METHODS One hundred and thirty-nine consecutive patients (75 women; mean age, 51 years) with acute (n=110) or subacute (n=29) iliofemoral DVT underwent endovascular treatm...

Acute iliofemoral venous thrombosis in patients with atresia of the inferior vena cava can be treated successfully with catheter-directed thrombolysis.

PURPOSE To assess the effectiveness and clinical outcomes of catheter-directed thrombolysis in patients with atresia of the inferior vena cava (IVC) and acute iliofemoral deep vein thrombosis (DVT). MATERIALS AND METHODS From 2001 to 2009, 11 patients (median age, 32 y) with atresia of the IVC and acute iliofemoral DVT in 13 limbs were admitted for catheter-directed thrombolysis. Through a mu...

Catheter-directed thrombolysis for iliofemoral deep vein thrombosis.

BACKGROUND Recent international guidance recommends the use of catheter-directed thrombolysis (CDT) in selected patients with symptomatic iliofemoral deep vein thrombosis (DVT). The aim of this study was to estimate the potential increase in workload as a result of this recommendation. METHODS Using the radiology database, a review was performed of all DVTs diagnosed between August 2010 and F...

Catheter-Directed Thrombolysis with a Continuous Infusion of Low-Dose Urokinase for Non-Acute Deep Venous Thrombosis of the Lower Extremity

OBJECTIVE We wanted to evaluate the feasibility of catheter-directed thrombolysis with a continuous infusion of low-dose urokinase for treating non-acute (less than 14 days) deep venous thrombosis of the lower extremity. MATERIALS AND METHODS The clinical data of 110 patients who were treated by catheter-directed thrombolysis with a continuous infusion of low-dose urokinase for lower extremit...
